Pizza

Pizza is a workbench food: one uncommon pizza slice plus two rare slices. It orbits you, damages what it touches, has a 5 percent chance to heal 5 HP on hit, and raises maximum HP.

Three slices, then it flies around you

The wiki types pizza as food, footprint 2 by 2, workbench only. The recipe is specific about rarity: one uncommon slice and two rare slices. A pile of three common slices is not the line they printed. Once crafted, the pizza circles the survivor and hurts enemies it touches. On a hit, 5 percent of the time it restores 5 HP. It also raises maximum HP. The wiki writes that bonus as an empty XX, so I am not substituting a round number.

Tags on the page are food and inflatable. Version 1.0 added Fresh Pumpkin and The Carver's Grin to the food tag. If you own an item that cares about food, pizza was already in that club and the pumpkin items just joined it. I do not have a list of which support items read the food tag, so I will not name one.

A 1.0 bug worth knowing

The 1.0 fix list says pizza, the health kit, and some other item abilities could stay switched off after an upgrade. If a crafted pizza looks inert after you merge it, that note is the reason to suspect a version bug rather than a wrong recipe. The wiki shows legendary and mythic art and players say there is no tier past mythic. Merging is still the upgrade path. There is no second recipe for a stronger pizza.

Compare this with the rocket launcher, which spends ten cells on one shot, or the minigun, which spends two hands on a stream. Pizza spends four cells on passive contact damage plus a small heal. It does not take a hand. That makes it a side dish in a gun backpack, not the center. The P.I.Z.Z.A. launcher is a different workbench result. The wiki lists it separately and does not give me its ingredients, so I am not folding that gun into this food.
