Backpack blocks
Items and the workbench
Every weapon and item is a shaped block. Marked cells pass a bonus when they touch the right neighbor. Two copies of the same rarity merge up one step. Legendaries are built at the workbench, not dropped.
Updated
| Workbench | Crafting station | Not a backpack item (base station) | Crafts legendary weapons from three ingredients; the recipe list only shows what you can currently make |
| WiFi Repeater | Powerup | 2x1 | Relays any effect applied to itself onto the marked item; the marked item must be able to receive that effect. Upgraded to red (Super) its reach grows from 1 cell to 3 |
| Robot Arm | Powerup | 4x1 diagonal | Counts as X additional hands when equipping weapons; stacks with a second arm |
| Rocket Launcher | Ranged weapon | 5x2 | Fires one powerful rocket; uses 2 hand slots and rocket ammo |
| Minigun + Fork | Ranged weapon + powerup combo | Minigun 4-cell L shape (2 hands) + Fork 1x2 | No item is named 'Minigun Fork'; the query matches the Minigun (very high fire rate) plus the Fork, which adds one extra bullet to a marked ranged weapon |
| Pizza | Food | 2x2 | Orbits the player and damages enemies it touches; 5% chance to heal 5 HP on hit; raises max HP |

Rarity and merging
The German wiki lists eight steps: common, uncommon, rare, epic, super, legendary, mythic, and ultimate. Merge two identical items of the same rarity to climb one step. Legendary results are workbench-only. Character items do not climb that ladder. The 1.0 notes say the recipe list now sorts by what you can actually craft and shows the ingredient count and rarity.
Shapes are not a single cell count. A rocket launcher is 5 by 2. A WiFi repeater is 2 by 1. A robot arm is a diagonal strip of four. A fork is 1 by 2. Rotating a block so its marked cell touches the weapon is the whole puzzle. The 1.0 post says co-op adds one extra column you can unlock, and neighboring cells can sit across the two backpacks.

What this table is not
I am not publishing a 110-row dump. The official post withholds full details until you unlock the item. The community wiki has on the order of forty item pages and stalled around update 0.17, so Santa's later gear and the 1.0 weapon list are thinner there. The six links above are the searches with their own questions: workbench, repeater, robot arm, minigun plus fork, rocket launcher, and pizza.

Questions
How do I make a legendary?
Unlock the workbench with duct tape, then craft it. Merging copies stops before legendary.
How many items are in 1.0?
The 1.0 announcement says 110+ weapons and items, including 10 new weapons and 16 new items. It does not print the full list.
